The three pillars of a healthy mind & body are without a doubt:

Nutrition

•Activity

•Contentment

Nutrition:  It's necessary to prepare food at home on a regular basis. Develop a relationship with the food you eat, and designate time to eating and eating alone. This means no other activities that will divide the precious energy needed to digest and assimilate your meal. Find a window or piece of art to admire while you eat instead.

Activity:  This is as important for you mind as it is for your body. Exercise is one of the best stress reducers, and will assist your digestive function, nervous system, and the circulation of Qi and blood. If your body is extremely depleted or for women during their menses, exercise should be very mild to avoid further depletion.

Contentment:  This pillar comes in many forms and is well supported by both nutritional health and activity. The mind, or psyche, requires support from the body to maintain stability and peace.

A Short History of Medicine: 2000 B.C. "Here, eat this root." 1000 B.C. "That root is heathen, say this prayer." 1850 A.D. "That prayer is superstition, drink this potion." 1940 A.D. "That potion is snake oil, swallow this pill." 1985 A.D."That pill is ineffective, take this antibiotic." 2000 A.D. "That antibiotic is artificial. Here, eat this root."
